Interview with Bianca Răileanu – “The JGV Team – passionate individuals about what they do, legal professionals from whom I learn daily and alongside whom I can grow professionally.”

Bianca Raileanu - avocat accidente rutiere, despagubiri accidente auto

HOW DID YOU BECOME PART OF THIS TEAM?

I joined the JGV & Associates team in the second year of my internship. I knew from the jurisprudence studied and various publications that JGV & Associates had the best solutions in the field of insurance law, so I wanted to learn from the best. During the interview, we discussed mutual expectations, the responsibilities I would have, and the opportunities for growth within the company. For me, the challenge was that I had to “stand out from the crowd,” to convince my interlocutors that I should be part of the JGV team, to the detriment of other candidates.

The interview was a pleasant experience, a free discussion during which I had the opportunity to form a clear picture of the internal organization of the company and a potential collaboration.

HOW DID YOU PERCEIVE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEORY AND PRACTICE?

It is clear that theory supports practice. In college, I acquired theoretical knowledge, which the bar exam validated and which is now sedimented in day-to-day practice. The bar exam is strictly theoretical, and the transition to practice is quite abrupt. Moving from studying civil and criminal procedural law to actual collaboration with law enforcement agencies and advocating cases in court is a challenge, and a solid theoretical foundation gives you the confidence you need.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR EXPERIENCE SO FAR WITH THE JGV & ASSOCIATES TEAM? HOW DO YOU FIND THE TEAM?

Within the JGV team, I met people passionate about what they do, legal professionals from whom I learn daily and alongside whom I can grow professionally. Nearly a year spent at JGV and the experience gained here have certainly helped me evolve professionally. I have acquired a lot of practical knowledge, and I certainly have much more to learn from the JGV team.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU TO BE PART OF A LAW FIRM WITH OVER 40 EMPLOYEES?

I am glad to be part of such a large team, and I have often collaborated with colleagues from Bucharest as well as from other parts of the country to find solutions to the challenges that the profession brings.

IF IT WEREN'T FOR LAW, WHAT WOULD IT HAVE BEEN?

If I hadn’t chosen law school, I would have chosen foreign languages. I followed a humanistic profile, bilingual English philology, and most of my classmates pursued degrees in foreign languages, but I wanted to build a career in law.

WHAT IS THE BEST ADVICE YOU'VE RECEIVED SO FAR IN LIFE AND FROM WHOM?

I can’t say that I received the best advice, but rather a cumulation of teachings from my grandmother, who, with simple words, always told me to make school and career a priority and to have confidence in myself. You have to become “someone” to truly enjoy life and leave a mark in time.
